65th LUC NATIONAL CONVENTION
The 2003 National Convention of the League of Ukrainian Catholics of America will be held on October 10-12, 2003 (Columbus Day weekend)at the Radisson Hotel in Monroeville, PA.
All LUC members and Ukrainian Catholic laity and clergy and religious are invited to attend by the Western Pennsylvania Council, the Convention hosts, and to share in the Convention theme of "God's Love For Us Is Eternal." Bishop Robert M. Moskal of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of St. Josaphat in Parma and Bishop Richard S. Seminack of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of St. Nicholas in Chicago will be attending and speaking.
The Radisson Hotel is located just east of Pittsburgh, PA and is just two miles on Business Route 22 West from the Monroeville exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76). Room reservations must be made by September 19, 2003 in order to get the Convention rate of per night for a room with two double beds. To make reservations, please call 1-800-333-3333 and tell the operator that you will be attending the League of Ukrainian Catholics' Convention at the Radisson Hotel in Monroeville,PA. Please be sure to write down your reservation confirmation number.
The Convention will have a business meeting and elections of National Board members on Friday afternoon, October 10th. That evening there will be a prayer service before a Welcoming Party with a sandwich buffet. Saturday will begin with a morning prayer service followed by a buffet breakfast and a speaker. There will be seminar presentations from late morning through early afternoon. On Saturday evening, there will be a banquet. After the banquet, Bishop Richard S. Seminack will give an address, and then a dance will follow. On Sunday, Very Reverend Robert Hnatyshyn will welcome Convention attendees to Holy Divine Liturgy at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in McKeesport, PA. The Convention will conclude with a brunch at the Radisson Hotel. In addition to Bishops Robert and Richard, the following speakers will be participating: Reverend Roman Harwas from St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in McKees Rocks, PA, will speak and present slides on Metropolitan Andrew Sheptytsky; Reverend Valerian M. Michlik from St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church in Pittsburgh will talk on "LUC and the Family"; George Honchar from Carnegie, PA will talk on "Adopting From Ukraine", and Reverend Dr. Mark M. Morozowich from Catholic University will also be speaking. Reverend Douglas Lorance from St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lyndora, PA will be at the Welcoming Party on Friday evening.
